𝗟𝘂𝘅𝘂𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹. When it comes to what defines a luxury hotel experience, some value a 24-hour fitness centre with luxury equipment; Others prioritize a seamless check-in and check-out. For me, it is about how thoughtful and personalised I am being looked after, and how the staff create memories for my stay.

Here are the three other tips Joseph Sampermans shared about The Peninsula Hotels' memorable human touch.

𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳. Joseph and his management team organise a monthly breakfast to connect with new staff to constantly listen to their feedback and recommendations. In the beginning, the new staff were just there to attend the breakfast, but in time they realised their opinions are valued and they started to come with questions and comments. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀.

𝗕𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻. This is one of the Peninsula principles and you will experience it in the big and small gestures throughout any stay. In our recent stay, we checked in at midnight and there was a bottle of warm chicken soup waiting in the guest room. My partner got a Peninsula Teddy Bear as a gesture on his birthday on our last visit. There is always a range of snacks, drinks and fruits being served to all guests around the swimming pool area to keep everyone entertained - my favourite was the ice cube that’s made of fresh orange or pineapple juice 😊

𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲.  In the Peninsula Bangkok I often experience the above and beyond of Thai hospitality. A front desk manager, Henry, once took the initiative to write us a thoughtful email of restaurants, sightseeing and bar recommendations when he knew we are going to Koh Samui, a place he was familiar with. During this recent stay, I was taking photos of a Thai orchid flower, and the next minute, Joe, the staff at the swimming pool came to gift me the flower and explained its symbolic meaning of it. Community is often formed amongst guests through the cocktail and lifestyle activities organised by the hotel too. As Joseph mentioned, “People come back for people, 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲, 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲-𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵.”
